State authorities in Baltimore have sadly confirmed the deaths of six Hispanic laborers following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. These workers were part of a team assigned to repair potholes on the bridge when the catastrophic incident occurred.
The Guatemalan Foreign Ministry confirmed that two victims were from Guatemala, withholding their identities. Similarly, a spokesperson from the Mexican embassy in Washington stated that one of the deceased was Mexican.
Reports have identified Miguel Luna from El Salvador and Maynor Yassir Suazo from Honduras as potential victims of the bridge collapse. The full identities of other possible casualties have not been revealed yet.
Jesús Campos, a colleague and friend of the missing workers, confirmed that they hailed from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Mexico. Campos, speaking through an interpreter, acknowledged the challenging situation, noting, “These were truly exceptional individuals,” in remembrance of the departed.
