If you often browse through the cookie aisle of your local grocery store like us, you have most likely come across the numerous variations Oreo has developed in the last decade. From Cocoa Marshmallow to Strawberry Shake-Up to Pancake and Syrup (not an exaggeration), there is an Oreo cookie for everyone.
Currently, Oreo is bringing back a flavor they introduced into their sweet lineup in 2019. Back then, they pleasantly surprised fans by revealing their “mystery flavor” as an Oreo featuring churro-flavored filling. Five years later, Oreo is confirming their love for churros and converting the entire cookie into the taste of the fried dessert.
As stated in an official announcement disclosed on Parade magazine, the newly introduced churro-flavored cookies “perfectly capture the delightful dessert in one bite.”
On Instagram, Oreo posted a photo of their newest cookie. The package describes the cookie as a “deep-fried dough flavored cookie, churro flavor cream… and delightful sugar enhancements.”
This could either be a testament to the brilliance and splendor of modern processed foods, OR… a sign of the apocalypse.

To us, and presumably to fans of Oreo cookies, the idea sounds enticing, as shown by the positive responses on social media. Comments on Instagram included, “Oreo, you nailed it” and “I’m salivating just thinking about them.”
At least one social media user expressed optimism that this could lead to a horchata-flavored Oreo cookie in the future. Another suggested renaming the cookie to “Churreo.”
All that remains for us now is a tall glass of milk and we’re all set.
Churro-flavored Oreos are scheduled to hit store shelves on March 27, 2024.
