Ever since Disney’s takeover in 2012, Star Wars has made substantial strides on both the big screen and television. With a total of five movies and a multitude of TV series being launched on the Disney+ streaming platform, it seemed that there were no further unforeseen developments. However, Star Wars revealed a new surprise with the upcoming film, The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is set to commence production in 2024. What role will Pedro Pascal play in this?
The Mandalorian is a series that explores an unconventional character previously unseen in the Star Wars universe, a mercenary named Din Djarin, who formed a bond with a young extraterrestrial named Grogu, initially referred to as Baby Yoda by fans. Through this partnership, audiences were exposed to unexplored realms of the galaxy and encountered individuals such as Luke Skywalker.
At present, Pascal’s involvement in the movie has not been officially confirmed. However, replacing Pascal would prove to be a challenging task as the actor stated in 2022, “I love the cinema. Coming back and getting the chance to reconnect with an audience is of utmost importance to me. If that happens with The Mandalorian, all I can say is… please!” This clearly emphasizes the actor’s dedication to the role.
Fans have also expressed their concerns about the possibility of Pascal not reprising his character, with one X user expressing worries about not even seeing Pascal’s face.
On the contrary, another user worried that the Mandalorian being discussed may not actually relate to Pascal’s character, with other individuals such as Bo-Katan Kryze being possible choices for this film adaptation.
May it truly be the renowned mandalorian aka Pedro
Pascal’s embodiment in that movie, without simply repeating the previous installment.

Even though it may appear certain that Pascal will revisit his character for The Mandalorian and Grogu, it’s important to highlight that the actor is already confirmed for Gladiator 2 and The Last of Us Season 2. Moreover, there have been speculations regarding his portrayal of Reed Richards in Marvel Studio’s upcoming Fantastic Four motion picture.
As the filming for The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to begin in 2024, there remains a positive outlook for Pedro Pascal to once again don the helmet.
