The man behind the lawsuit, Frank Siragusa, filed a class-action lawsuit on July 31, claiming that Taco Bell misleads its customers by falsely advertising that menu items like the Mexican Pizza and Crunchwrap Supreme contain double the amount of ingredients compared to what customers actually receive.
In his lawsuit, Siragusa included Taco Bell advertisements showing generously filled food, including beef, cheese, and vegetables, alongside photos of the same menu items that customers ordered in real life and shared online, which were less appealing.
The lawsuit argues that Taco Bell’s ads are “unfair and financially harmful to consumers,” especially considering the current high inflation, food prices, and meat costs that many financially struggling consumers are facing.
One of Siragusa’s lawyers, Anthony Russo, added, “Taco Bell does not adequately disclose the weight of the beef or filling. The plaintiff made purchases based solely on the product picture, which we believe is the case for most consumers.”
Prior to this lawsuit, Siragusa has also filed similar claims against McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King regarding the size of their burgers compared to what is advertised. These lawsuits are still in progress at various stages of the legal process.
