Today celebrates National Latina Day, and acclaimed actress Stephanie Beatriz has been named the newest ambassador for the Jefa-Owned campaign, which aims to honor Latina-led small businesses across the United States. Beatriz, a fervent advocate for Latina representation and equality across various fields, has joined forces with PepsiCo and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to highlight the contributions of Latina entrepreneurs while raising awareness of the unique obstacles they face on their entrepreneurial journeys.

In an interview with REMEZCLA, Beatriz remarked, “By connecting National Latina Day with the Jefa-Owned initiative, we are nurturing a nationwide campaign to support Latina entrepreneurs within their local communities. It’s essential to acknowledge and empower the committed Latinas who invest their hearts and souls into their enterprises.”

At the inaugural showcase of the Jefa-Owned initiative at Bistró Casa Azul, where the featured image displays one of the owners, Maria Gonzalez, in New York City, Beatriz reflected on the arduous learning curve she encountered at the outset of her career, emphasizing that grants and mentorship programs like this one are instrumental in ensuring ongoing success.

Recalling her beginnings as an actress, Beatriz shared, “I started my acting career without any industry connections. My only asset was my acting talent, and I made many mistakes along the way. I often reflected on my experiences and wished for guidance throughout my journey. Having a mentor to guide me would have made a tremendous difference. This program is exceptional as it elevates female entrepreneurs who have made remarkable achievements on their own, now receiving additional support to advance their existing paths.”

PepsiCo’s Juntos Crecemos initiative will allocate $200,000 in grants to 20 women entrepreneurs in the food and beverage industry to help them grow and develop their businesses. Additionally, the initiative will offer resources for business enhancement, improve visibility, and cultivate a community for Latina entrepreneurs. The application period for the grant will be from August 20 to September 27.
