Siddhartha marks a victorious come back with fresh musical compositions. The renowned Mexican indie rock artist presented his much-anticipated extended play, Miel de Azar, on June 11 and simultaneously revealed a series of planned performance dates spanning the United States.
“Friends, My heart swells with joy as I introduce ‘Miel de Azar’ to all of you,” the artist stated online. “Contained within these six songs are significant portions of my journey, the happiness experienced, and the knowledge acquired.” He continued, “To those who offer their listening ears, my hope is that you extract pleasure and comfort from these creations during segments of your life’s journey, as they have in mine. Gratitude is extended to all collaborators and especially to you, as you are the lifeblood of this musical commune.”
The Miel de Azar EP cements Siddhartha’s knack for crafting well-orchestrated indie pop-rock tunes, interwoven with synth sounds and undertones of psychedelia. Through this EP, he weaves narratives about love adventures and deep self-discoveries, resonating powerfully with his audience. Prominent pieces such as “Aurora,” distinguished by its infectious bass and tranquil synthesizer undulations, “Día Tras Día,” and “Acapulco” with Emmanuel Horvilleur, disclose a groovier and more hypnotic side to Siddhartha’s musical expression that guarantees an enthralling auditory experience.
An additional captivating attribute is the nuanced symphonic synth touches in the EP’s closing piece “Nada por Hecho,” which regrettably can go unnoticed. In 2023, Siddhartha offered a version of “Nada por Hecho” in a collaborative effort with Spanish musician Leiva.
Siddhartha, the skilled Mexican indie rock craftsman, launched his Miel de Azar EP with great anticipation, coinciding with the announcement of his forthcoming American tour engagements.
Concurrent with the EP’s debut, he has also made public his upcoming touring commitments in the U.S. Renowned appearances are scheduled, such as in Los Angeles, CA (June 15); Boston, MA (June 17); New York, NY (June 18); and Philadelphia, PA (June 19). Siddhartha is preparing to support Enrique Bunbury for his imminent concerts at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York.
