There was a lot of chatter about Rauw Alejandro’s unexpected rendition of “Se Fue” at last year’s Latin Grammy Awards. The Puerto Rican artist recently announced that he will release his own version of the song, featuring the original singer, Italian vocalist Laura Pausini.
Last July, Rauw Alejandro and Rosalía revealed the end of their engagement and relationship. Both artists appeared to express their emotions on stage at the Latin Grammy Awards in November. Rosalía began the event with a moving performance of “Se Nos Rompió El Amor” by Rocío Jurado. Rauw then paid tribute to Pausini, the Latin Recording Academy’s Person of the Year, with a graceful cover of her song “Se Fue.” Notably, Remezcla recognized both performances as the highlights of the evening.
In an interview with Chente Ydrach, Rauw Alejandro revealed that he and his longtime collaborator Mr. NaisGai worked on the musical arrangement for his version of “Se Fue.” Before his performance of Pausini’s 1994 hit at the Latin Grammy Awards, he expressed his intention to include the song in his upcoming album. The release of Rauw’s cover featuring Pausini is imminent.
“She was impressed by it,” Rauw Alejandro mentioned. “The song is recorded with Laura Pausini. Anticipate its release soon. I recorded it based on the overwhelming support and demand for it.”
During the interview, Rauw also opened up about his split from Rosalía. He reflected on how the Spanish artist defended him against unfounded rumors of infidelity. “Our relationship was very fulfilling,” he stated. “There was nothing toxic about it. It was a beautiful experience. We hold each other in high regard and respect.”
Recently, Rauw Alejandro parted ways with his longtime manager Eric Duars. In the interview, he clarified that their separation was amicable and not personal. He is currently without a manager but continues to collaborate with his Los Sensei team.
