Peso Pluma has recently postponed several upcoming concerts due to alleged death threats from the CJNG cartel in Jalisco, Mexico. The threats, which were displayed on “narcomanta” banners placed around Tijuana, targeted Peso Pluma and warned him to abstain from performing as it would be his last show. Tijuana’s mayor, Montserrat Caballero, is considering canceling the concert due to potential risks to the audience. The singer’s narcocorrido-inspired songs, such as “Siempre Pendientes,” which mentions El Chapo, are believed to be one of the reasons behind the threats. As a result, Peso Pluma has chosen to postpone and cancel several upcoming shows, including those in Indiana, Alabama, Milwaukee, Rosemont, Indianapolis, and San Diego.
Mexican authorities have taken down the banners and detained one person in connection with the incident. However, concerns about the safety of concert-goers remain. Fans who had purchased tickets for the postponed shows express disappointment and sadness over the situation. Despite the setback, safety is the top priority for Peso Pluma and his team.
