Pepe Aguilar is poised to be honored at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards. He will not only receive the esteemed Billboard Hall of Fame Award but will also grace the stage with a performance at the event next month.
Aguilar is being recognized with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award for his significant role in promoting the global reach of música mexicana over the last thirty years. He has continued the legacy established by his renowned parents, Mexican legends Flor Silvestre and Antonio Aguilar. In addition to writing and producing his own music, Pepe has played a vital role in nurturing the careers of his children, Ángela and Leonardo. The Billboard Latin Music Awards are slated for October 20 in Miami, FL.
“Receiving the Billboard Hall of Fame Award is an incredible honor, and it reminds me of the importance of continually evolving as an artist,” Aguilar commented in a statement. “After 35 years in this industry, I feel just as passionate and driven as I did on day one. It’s exciting to see how música mexicana is growing and evolving, and I’m proud to be part of that movement. What’s even more special is being able to connect with a new generation of fans while staying true to my roots. I’ve reinvented myself time and time again, and as music continues to evolve, I’m ready to keep pushing boundaries and creating something new.”
Aguilar will also take the stage during the award ceremony, likely performing a track from his rock-oriented album Que Llueva Tequila. He will share the spotlight with a remarkable roster of artists, including Xavi, Fuerza Regida, Yandel, and Maria Becerra, among others. The event will be broadcast live on Telemundo, with streaming available on the Telemundo App and Peacock.
As Aguilar prepares to celebrate this important recognition, he is also set to release a new song tomorrow. Based on the snippets that have emerged so far, it seems that Pepe will be sharing his reflections on Ángela’s relationship with Christian Nodal.
