The Hollywood Walk of Fame recently uncovered the defacement of Jenni Rivera’s star on July 8. The renowned banda vocalist’s children shared their thoughts on the occurrence, after which quick restoration took place.
Chiquis, the daughter of Jenni who recently commemorated her nuptials, reacted to the post. In her response, she conveyed: “I am speechless. Gratitude to those who invested their time in aiding to restore my mother’s star. Accountability lies with the individual(s) behind this.” Moreover, she shared an Instagram story in Spanish, acknowledging, “What a heart-wrenching situation… Nonetheless, profound thanks to my mother’s enthusiasts for promptly responding and refurbishing the Star. We owe a debt to you, Momma.”
In light of the vandalism, Jenni’s other daughter, Jacqie, conveyed her sentiments through an Instagram story in Spanish, opting to focus on joy. She recounted learning about the incident from a Texas-based admirer who was visiting Jenni’s star. Although feeling disturbed, she was deeply touched by the supporters who pitched in to cleanse not just her mother’s star but also that of Selena Quintanilla.
“I am brought to tears by such a moving show of solidarity. Their act of benevolence was voluntary, yet their fondness for her and their sense of possession is apparent. Heartfelt thanks to those fans who devoted their time to honor the two stars.” Jacqie also shared another Instagram story specifically acknowledging the individuals who supported in the cleanup.
Jenni’s youngest son, Johnny “Cinco” Lopez, posted a picture of himself with the star and captioned it, “her brilliance cannot be dulled 🤙🏻⭐️❤️.”
Rumors also circulated regarding the vandalism of Quintanilla’s star. Although the official social media account of the Hollywood Walk of Fame did not acknowledge the damage to Quintanilla’s star, speculation among supporters hinted at its involvement in the episode. A Twitter user expressed: “Unbelievable that Jenni Rivera & Selena Quintanilla’s stars were defaced, simply despicable.”
Jenni Rivera’s children – Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka, and Michael – received the star on her behalf in June. The poignant ceremony was also graced by her brother Lupillo Rivera, sister Rosie Rivera, mother Doña Rosa, and father Don Pedro.
