On the latest episode of the Tonight Show, Marcello Hernández, recognized for his stint on Saturday Night Live and as a humorist, delivered a breathtaking stand-up act that mesmerized the crowd.
Before Hernández took the stage, host Jimmy Fallon revealed that they had attempted to book him for the show prior to his SNL debut in 2022, but the timing didn’t align. Fallon acknowledged the rapid journey Hernández took to join SNL.

Adorned in an elegant black and white suit, Hernández amusingly quipped, “Performing stand-up on this show has always been a dream of mine – but snagging SNL was an incredible surprise. Thanks, Lorne [Michaels], for that.”
Following this, Fallon beckoned Hernández to join him on stage for a brief comedy act, a moment that Hernández welcomed eagerly (although it seemed pre-planned). Fallon then asked Hernández to shift behind the curtain for a formal introduction.
Commencing his routine, Hernández shared stories about his immigrant parents, highlighting their differing levels of English fluency. He lightheartedly lauded his mother for her superior grasp of English compared to his father and her knack for posing “mind-boggling questions.”
One particularly memorable query was, “What sets apart a butt dial from a booty call?”
Additionally, Hernández comically reflected on how “genuinely American individuals” like to flaunt the number of years they’ve studied Spanish. He humorously recounted instances where they attempted pronouncing words like “Lunes” and “Sabado” and even tried their hand at singing “Suavemente.”
Aside from his SNL commitments, Marcello Hernández tours for stand-up gigs throughout the U.S. For updates on his upcoming shows, visit Marcello.live.
