At the LadyLand Festival in New York City, Tokischa and Arca wrapped up LGBTQ+ Pride Month in style. Madonna delighted the audience unexpectedly on Saturday evening (June 29).
In the month of April, Tokischa and Arca were announced as the festival’s headliners. Kicking things off on Friday was the talented Kim Petras from Germany, with Tokischa and Arca taking the stage on Saturday. Tokischa’s performance at LadyLand marked a significant moment during her Nacà Perra Pride Tour. She mesmerized the audience with her newest song, “Sol,” the premiere track under her very own label, Sol Records.
Arca brought an electrifying DJ set to the festival as the main event. Fans were in for a treat when Tokischa surprised everyone by joining the Venezuelan artist on stage, unveiling a brand-new collaboration for the first time. The fresh tune, “Me Vengo,” had fans excited and fulfilled as they witnessed the two artists coming together.
For a final act, Arca and Tokischa took the stage again, paying tribute to Madonna’s iconic “Vogue” ball moment from the Celebration Tour. Also on stage were Bob the Drag Queen, a former member of Madonna’s tour, and Sevdaliza, Tokischa’s current musical partner, as mentioned on The Skinny. The crowd was left speechless when Madonna made a surprise appearance at the festival, joining Tokischa, Arca, Bob the Drag Queen, and Sevdaliza as they enjoyed the runway spectacle.
“Your presence means a lot to me,” Madonna shared, wrapping up her unexpected appearance. “I simply want to extend my appreciation for being here. New York Pride, especially after my birthday, holds a special place in my heart every year. A huge thank you to all the artists who showcased their talents tonight. Most notably, my deep gratitude to our incredible panel of judges.”
