Julio César Chávez Jr. kicked off 2024 by making strong accusations against his father, renowned Mexican boxing icon Julio César Chávez. The boxer, who has also tasted success in the boxing arena, claiming the WBC middleweight championship from 2011 to 2012, delivered harsh criticisms about his father through a series of videos.
Chávez Jr., who has grappled with dependency issues for years, alleged that his father forcibly admitted him to a treatment facility and “abducted him for three years.” However, that’s not the only grave accusation leveled against Julio César Chávez Sr., as his son also accused him of physically assaulting and traumatizing his mother, Amalia Carrasco, and attempting to take his life.
“My father broke my mother, he physically assaulted her, he degraded her, she is scarred, she is unable to function. She was devastated for the rest of her life by the same individual who is causing harm to me, a detestable ‘bully’ who claims he wants to assist me.”
Chávez Jr. then goes on to brand his father as “trash” and calls for his incarceration.
Julio César Chávez Sr. had previously shared a message for his son on December 31st on X, formerly known as Twitter. In it, he had stated. “Hopefully, God willing, a ray of light shines upon you and you cease speaking such nonsense.”
Regarding why he is no longer involved in his son’s recovery and battles with addiction, ChávezMr. explained. “The laws in the United States differ significantly, and pursuing him could lead to my imprisonment, similar to a kidnapping.”
