Fuerza Regida has teamed up with an unexpected partner for a special collaborative endeavor. The groundbreaking Mexican-American ensemble has united with Playboy to introduce an exclusive limited edition assortment.
Renowned as pioneers of the corridos tumbados music genre, Fuerza Regida, in conjunction with Natanael Cano and Junior H, have played a crucial role in expanding the música mexicana style to wider audiences since 2019. With chart-topping tracks that have propelled corridos tumbados to global acclaim, Fuerza Regida enjoys a dedicated fanbase of more than 31.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The ensemble has now delved into the fashion world with their collaboration alongside Playboy.
Partnering with Playboy for the label’s forthcoming 2024 spring-summer line, the group has co-crafted a selection of apparel encompassing sweaters, shirts, shorts, sweatpants, and hats that fuse their vibrant corridos tumbados flair with the iconic Playboy bunny emblem. One of the standout pieces is a lavish crimson robe adorned with dual logos of Fuerza Regida and Playboy on each side of the chest. Enthusiasts can peruse the entire clothing range here.
To mark Valentine’s Day, the band introduced their newest EP, Dolido Pero No Arrepentido. This compilation features recent hits like “Tú Name” and “Enculado.” The release of this EP followed a period of turmoil for Fuerza Regida, as their lead singer Jesús OrtÃz Paz, known as JOP, was apprehended at the Mexican border for possession of marijuana. Following an inquiry by the FiscalÃa General de la República (FGR) that revealed the amount in possession—10 grams of marijuana—was insufficient for detention, he was subsequently set free.
Tragedy befell Paz last month with the sudden passing of Chuy Montana, an artist signed to his label Street Mob, who was fatally assaulted in Tijuana. The individual in custody allegedly took offense to a track performed by Montana, leading to a fatal attack by a group of aggressors. Meanwhile, the Playboy brand reintroduced the digital Playgirl magazine showcasing Maluma on the latest cover.
