Belinda is making a splendid comeback to the pop music scene, partnering with one of Mexico’s rising talents. On October 24, the Spanish-Mexican superstar joined forces with Kenia Os to drop her latest single “Jackpot.” The release was accompanied by a visually striking music video, heavily influenced by classic sci-fi films like Star Wars.

After spending a few years focusing on various projects, Belinda returned to music in January with her pop corrido “Cactus.” She then collaborated with corridos tumbados trailblazer Natanael Cano for the song “300 Noches.” Belinda further delved into música mexicana with her trap-infused single “La Mala.” In July, she began hinting at her collaboration with Kenia, and after months of excitement, “Jackpot” has made its much-anticipated debut. This song is particularly notable as it marks Belinda’s first collaboration with another female artist from Mexico.

With “Jackpot,” Belinda revisits her pop roots, building on her earlier corridos. The sultry, entrancing track incorporates house music elements, as both artists sing about romances that evoke the exhilaration of hitting the jackpot at a slot machine. “Let’s go to the presidential suite / With you I won the jackpot,” Belinda sings in Spanish. Kenia elevates the energy with her line, “He forgot about his ex, and now I have her on top of me.” This captivating collaboration highlights Belinda’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of pop music.

The music video for “Jackpot” whisks viewers away to outer space, where Belinda and Kenia host a lively party with aliens and indulge in intergalactic gambling. Throughout the visuals, the duo nods to Barbarella during an otherworldly shootout, while the closing credits scroll upward, reminiscent of iconic Star Wars moments. Together, Belinda and Kenia offer an audacious twist on these beloved sci-fi classics.

Earlier this month, Belinda also dropped the track “Bugatti,” which features influences from Afrobeats. Her first album under Warner is set to launch next year, while Kenia Os is preparing to kick off the U.S. leg of her Pink Aura Tour next month.
