The upcoming follow-up film to Beetlejuice has been given the official title Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice and is set to arrive in cinemas on September 6th of this year. The official announcement and the release of a new poster were publicized by Warner Bros. Pictures.
The poster exhibits Michael Keaton’s hands in character as Beetlejuice, the mischievous apparition we were first introduced to in the 1988 film. He can be seen grasping a piece of paper with various numbers in black, with the release date highlighted in green. Situated above the paper is a black beetle in the corner.
This appears to reference the Neitherworld Waiting Room, the ghost waiting area depicted in the original movie, as well as to the ticket each ghost had to hold on to in order to maintain their place in line. Interestingly, fans have indeed been eagerly anticipating this sequel. The title of the film is visible in green at the base.
Jenna Ortega is scheduled to take the lead in Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, the long-anticipated sequel to the 1988 original starring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. Ortega is set to portray the daughter of Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz. Keaton, Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara are reprising their original roles, with Tim Burton directing.
In the original film, Lydia and her family move into the home of a recently departed couple. Unhappy to see their home occupied, the two return as spirits in an attempt to scare the family out of their home with the help of an uncouth entity, Beetlejuice (Keaton). Matters quickly spiral out of control, and the couple forms a bond with Lydia, the family’s daughter.
Fans are already buzzing with excitement about the sequel, with some praising the movie title as “Flawless. No critiques.” Others suggest it hints at a third movie because summoning Keaton’s character requires saying his name three times.
Beetlejuice 2 being referred to as Beetlejuice Beetlejuice surely suggests a third installment, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is in the pipeline, isn’t it? Beetlejuice
