Is Bad Bunny genuinely releasing a new album? Recently, Vanity Fair unveiled a cover story that appeared to indicate a new album by Benito would debut this autumn. Although the dialogue did not affirm the new album, the publication implied that it was an underlying focus. Nonetheless, Bad Bunny has since refuted the speculation of an upcoming album in 2023.
Bad Bunny contacted his fans through his new WhatsApp Channel in Spanish, inquiring, “Who read the Vanity Fair interview? Haha, someone inform me where I mentioned I was launching an album this year because I never said that anywhere.”
@sanbenito ¿verdad? ? pic.twitter.com/5CZFOF90lQ

Since earlier today (Sept. 14), Bad Bunny has been sharing updates on his WhatsApp channel. He announced to his fans that he would attempt to write more frequently through this platform. He also posted a selfie from the dentist’s chair, revealing his current endeavors. Later, he directly addressed the matter and clarified that he did not refer to a new album for this year, contrary to Vanity Fair’s assertions.
In the extensive conversation with Vanity Fair, the writer, Michelle Ruiz, commends Bad Bunny for his forthcoming album. The artist then inquires who informed her of it. Ultimately, he diverts the discussion to talk about his present inspiration, which draws from music of the 1970s.
Bad Bunny’s WhatsApp Channel bio, penned in Spanish, reads, “Este es mi WhatsApp, chicos. No presten atención a lo que dicen afuera si no lo vieron aquÃ. ¿Vale?” The one-sided channel presently boasts 376 thousand followers.
This isn’t the first instance where Bad Bunny has criticized a media outlet for their publications. During his set at Coachella earlier this year, he addressed the controversies surrounding his TIME feature and stressed that people cannot truly understand him through social media posts or interviews.
Ultimately, this could simply be a strategy to mislead us. We are all aware that Bad Bunny enjoys surprising us with album launches when we least anticipate them. Did the Vanity Fair writer act too hastily and spoil his surprise? We will remain vigilant for any developments related to new music from Bad Bunny.
